Bible Story: The Birth of Jesus
Bible Reading: Luke 2:4-20
Bible Point: Our Redeemer is Born
Questions to ask:
- How does the birth of Jesus give us hope?
- Why did Jesus need to be born?
- How can we show Jesus we are thankful to him?
Parents, joy to the world, our Savior has come! For the last 10 weeks, we’ve been sharing with our kiddos how big biblical moments were pointing us to this one; the moment that King Jesus clothed himself in frail humanity and began the journey that would lead him to the cross. We know that without His birth and without His humanity, our souls would be without hope. He humbled Himself before the throne of the Father- the King of the universe had to have his diapers changed. The Lord Almighty had his toddler boo boos kissed by His mommy. The Creator had to be fed, He had to be laid down for naps, He was held through the discomfort of teething, His momma rocked him through raging fevers. He was fully human. This week, talk with your little ones about how Jesus walked perfectly even though he was plagued by the limits of humanity. It is sobering to ponder on just how much Jesus stepped away from so that He could claim victory over sin and satan. Praise be to Jehovah Jireh for providing a way!
